چکیده

The jet-stirred reactor (JSR) has become a tool frequently used to study the oxidation of a wide range of reactants and particularly to obtain data for testing detailed kinetic models. This paper aims to discuss recent knowledge pertaining to low-temperature oxidation of hydrocarbons and oxygenated reactants that has been gained from using a JSR in connection with gas chromatography, especially for the detailed quantification of cyclic ethers. Furthermore, JSR in conjunction with mass spectrometry has been applied to the detection of hydroperoxides, including ketohydroperoxides, acids, and compounds with two carbonyl functions. Finally, along with optical diagnostics, JSR has notably been used for the detection of hydrogen peroxide and OH and HO2 radicals. These aspects are also discussed here. * Corresponding author: [email protected]

Modeling of the oxidation of methyl esters-Validation for methyl hexanoate, methyl heptanoate, and methyl decanoate in a jet-stirred reactor.

The modeling of the oxidation of methyl esters was investigated and the specific chemistry, which is due to the presence of the ester group in this class of molecules, is described. New reactions and rate parameters were defined and included in the software EXGAS for the automatic generation of kinetic mechanisms. Models generated with EXGAS were successfully validated against data from the lit...

Experimental and modeling investigation of the low-temperature oxidation of n-heptane.

The low-temperature oxidation of n-heptane, one of the reference species for the octane rating of gasoline, was investigated using a jet-stirred reactor and two methods of analysis: gas chromatography and synchrotron vacuum ultra-violet photo-ionization mass spectrometry (SVUV-PIMS) with direct sampling through a molecular jet. The second method allowed the identification of products, such as m...

An experimental and modeling study of the low- and high-temperature oxidation of cyclohexane.

The experimental study of the oxidation of cyclohexane has been performed in a jet-stirred reactor at temperatures ranging from 500 to 1100 K (low- and intermediate temperature zones including the negative temperature-coefficient area), at a residence time of 2 s and for dilute mixtures with equivalence ratios of 0.5, 1, and 2. Experiments were carried out at quasi-atmospheric pressure (1.07 ba...

Experimental and Modeling Investigation of the Low-Temperature Oxidation of Dimethyl Ether.

The oxidation of dimethyl ether (DME) was studied using a jet-stirred reactor over a wide range of conditions: temperatures from 500 to 1100 K; equivalence ratios of 0.25, 1, and 2; residence time of 2 s; pressure of 106.7 kPa (close to the atmospheric pressure); and an inlet fuel mole fraction of 0.02 (with high dilution in helium). Reaction products were quantified using two analysis methods:...

Modelling Study of the Low-Temperature Oxidation of Large Methyl Esters

This study focuses on the automatic generation by the software EXGAS of kinetic models for the oxidation of large methyl esters using a single set of kinetic parameters. The obtained models allow to well reproduce the oxidation of a n-decane / methyl palmitate mixture in a jet-stirred reactor. This paper also presents the construction and a comparison of models for methyl esters from C7 up to C...
